Generation and Propagation of Partially Coherent Power-Exponent-Phase Vortex Beam

We report on a partially coherent power-exponent-phase vortex beam (PC-PEPV), whose spatial coherence is controllable and the initial phase exhibits periodic power exponential change. The PC-PEPV was generated experimentally with various widths, its propagation properties were studied both numerically experimentally. By modulating topological charge (TC) order of beam, structure can be adjusted from circular to elliptic, triangular, quadrangle, pentagon. When odd, negative TC generated, profiles precisely controlled via adjusting value order. For case high width, number dark cores in polygonal intensity array equals magnitude TC. However, when decreasing vanish gradually transforms into light spot. Fortunately, modulus distributions cross-spectral density (CSD), sign determined. In experiment, distribution CSD are verified by perturbation method. This study has potential applications shaping, micro-particle trapping, optical tweezers.
